Incline walk and Short Run

Incline at 4, spent the first 26 minutes walking, then did a run at 6.1 mph to get to 3 miles. Felt a bit tired going into it (especially after strength training).

Strength

One hour, upper body focus, toughest were side crunches on a wedge (left side particularly hard!) and one armed planks with a tricep kickback. Lots of lunges with the arm work to work the legs.

Run

Warmed up with 8 minutes (avg 3.8 mph) until I got to 1/2 mile. Ran 37 minutes at 6 mph. Cooled down for a few minutes (around 4) at 3.2 mph and then took speed up to 6.2 mph until I hit 5.5 miles total.

Felt good!

Intervals

10 minute warmup at 4mph. Then intervals at 6.4 mph. 2 min/4 min/6 min/6 min/4 min/2 min with 1 minute at 4mph in between and then 5 minutes at the end at 3.5mph for cooldown.

Didn’t think I was going to make it through the 2nd 6 minute interval but managed to slug it out by thinking, just do one more minute, one more minute, one more minute…

Walk/Run

Started off with 15 minutes at 4mph. Went to 6mph and goal was to do 10 minutes. Managed to do 35 for a 3.5 mile run. Felt Great! Did get a really good night’s rest the night before, hope that’s not the only reason I was able to do this….

Yoga class

Working on those hip openers…  making some progress there!  Did find my mind wandering with all that I have to do to get kids ready for camp….  but it was brief and I got back on track.

Strength training & Cardio

1 hour of strength, all parts. Then 50 minutes on the treadmill, 4.25 miles. Warmed up for 10 minutes then did 4 minutes at 6.3 mph alternating with 1 minute at 4mph. Goal was 6 intervals. Got through 4 okay, on the 5th one had to stop after 2 minutes. Went to 4mph for 1 minute then did 1 minute at 6mph. Did the 1 minute rest and then the final 6.3mph interval successfully. Finished with 4.3mph walk at 2% incline.
